What is a Dream?......

A dream is a succession of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that usually occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. The content and purpose of dreams are not fully understood, although they have been a topic of scientific, philosophical and religious interest throughout recorded history.

So do dogs dream?

You've probably seen this-----your sleeping pooch all of a sudden runs in his sleep while his nose starts to twitch.( AWW ISN'T THAT ADORABLE). Well, by this time you should already be able to crack the code that dogs do dream.When dogs dream, they demonstrate various behaviors like paddling legs, wagging tails and twitching nose that resembles almost what they do in a conscious state. But what we don't know and unsure of is what they are dreaming about. This has inspired scientists to carry out various experiments.


How do you know Dogs dream?

Similar to humans, dogs are able to enter a deep sleeping stage in which their breathing becomes irregular following some rapid eye movements. This has been proofed with an electroencephalogram where scientists found that dogs have the same sleep patters as humans. This is followed by movements like running, whining, whimpering and rapid breath.

Do all Dogs dream the same thing?

Nope. Not all dogs dream about the same thing. Some successful researchers has shown that small dogs dream more than larger dogs. Say, a Labrador may dream only once every 90 minutes whereas a Toy Poodle may dream once every ten minutes. Can you see the humongous difference? With exception of puppies that dream more frequently as they're brains are still in a developing stage.
